Design Institute Africa leads with a large and diverse community which includes international students, creating a community of ethical thinkers, creators and disruptors. It is a place where hi-tech collides with lo-tech, and no-tech, to provide a space for leading edge design and media practice to explore new frontiers in a unique cultural innovative environment. The Institution is focused on innovation, creativity, and research-based education in the field of the Arts, Fashion/Graphic Design, Photography, Animation, TV/Media, Creative Design, Textile Design among others.

Our students have access to the Institute’s prototyping facilities, virtual reality/augmented reality and mixed reality labs, research labs, Incubation and dedicated events and exhibition space. These facilities encourage learning and growth of skills by nurturing ideas while expanding capacity for leadership and entrepreneurial development. Students learn and create in custom-designed study spaces with state of the art facilities as well as flexible spaces for workshops and seminars. The new building for Design Institute Africa, will be home to technologically advanced creativity. Africa’s’s new work space for the creative industries is due to open in December, 2021 and can be found in North Legon, close to the University of Ghana.

JACCD DIA is a world-class private university and West Africa’s first ever specialist Creative Arts Institution, with accreditation from the National Accreditation Board. The Institute is placed as the continent’s pre-eminent creative tertiary education and research  institution, with facilities comparable to our affiliations, currently the University of East London UK, and Instituto Marangoni UK, both internationally renowned.
