Students are welcome to the JACCD Design Institute Africa, where they are guided through an exceptional educational experience that prepares them to thrive as professional creative industry leaders.

Undergraduate Students may apply for one of the following programs;

Fashion Design, Graphic Design, Interior Design, Textiles, Visual Arts Animation Gaming, Digital Film Making

Certificate Students may apply for one of the following programs:

Fashion design, graphic design, 3D/2D Clo and many more

National Academic requirements into Tertiary Education are at the forefront of our entry requirements, along with a desire to work within the creative industries.

Entrepreneurial Creative minded individuals who want to contribute to our long line of successful Alumni community, with thriving local and International Businesses.

Our admissions process, therefore, looks for students who will not only make the most of their creative educational experience, but will also be beacons in strengthening JACCD Design Institute Africa’s legacy.

The Importance of Academic Ability.
As a university, students we admit must be able to handle the rigour of JACCD Design Institute Africa’s creative academic theory and practical work. Admissions therefore requires proof of academic ability, with transcripts from school, examination results, along with a set essay before admission. Under Ghana's accreditation requirements, students who apply to any university in the country must have a minimum grade of D7 or its equivalent, to be considered eligible.

  • Early Deadline:June 2021

    • Regular Deadline: July 2021 (Deadline for International Applications)

    • Late Deadline: October 2021
    The Late Admissions period attracts an extra GHs100. Due to the shift in high school schedules, 

          Ghanaian applicants may also submit scholarship applications within this deadline.

       1. Completed application form, including personal essays.
       2. High School transcripts or report cards for at least six terms.
       3. One of the following examination results is required:

    • West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE); Six subjects are used to calculate your standard WASSCE score: Integrated Science, Core Math, Core English and three electives. A minimum grade of D7 in each subject is required to apply.
    • Six IGCSE (G.C.E. O-Level) passes including Mathematics, English, and Science are required together with at least three ‘A’ Level passes (with grade A-D)
    • International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma
    • American / Canadian High School Diploma
    • French Baccalaureate (a certified copy of the original score and a certified translated copy in English)
    • Other equivalent exam results approved by the National Accreditation Board of Ghana.

In addition to meeting the standard admissions requirements, applications from international students must meet the following requirements:

  • Certified Translation: Transcripts or other supporting documents submitted by international applicants in a language other than English must be translated and certified as copies of the original document(s).
  • Evidence of English Language proficiency: International students for who English was not a language of instruction during high school, must submit evidence of English language proficiency, including but not limited to the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), International English Language Testing System (IELTS).

STEP 1:
CONSIDER AN AREA OF INTEREST AND REVIEW THE ADMISSION REQUIREMENT

It’s a good idea to look over all our programs you may be interested in and to review any specific admission requirement needed to be eligible for admission.

 In reading over all the programs and opportunities, you may even discover a new area of interest. You’ll also be able to see if there are any specific application deadlines that must be met for admission into your intended major.

STEP 3:
ACCESS APPLICATION AND REVIEW IMPORTANT DATES

The application for admission becomes available on the following dates:

 Early Deadline: June 2021

 Regular Deadline: July 2021 (Deadline for International Applications)

 Late Deadline: October 2021

Application submission dates vary by applicant type and intended program of study. Some programs have specific deadlines or admissions requirements. Please refer to our Dates & Deadlines for more information about application deadlines, as well as our Admission Requirements to review information about any additional materials required for your intended program of study.

First-year students who apply by November 1 and who check the appropriate box on the application will be part of JACCD DIA iStart Program.

START YOUR APPLICATION PROCESS

STEP 5:
SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION

The application requires a nonrefundable application fee of …..  For domestic students and ……. for international students. Students who have requested and received an approved application fee waiver, you will be able to bypass the payment screen on the application.

Be sure to complete the last step which finalizes payment of your fee, and be certain it is successfully submitted.

STEP 6:
SUBMIT OTHER DOCUMENTS

Specific programs have specific requirements and additional document like portfolio, essays, proficiency certificates must be added before the application process is approved. Kindly check the programs with their specific requirements.

STEP 7:
CHECK YOUR APPLICATION STATUS

Prospective students can always check the status of their application on the JACCD DIA website. The university will communicate to you through series of emails, SMS messages and WhatsApp messages regarding your application status.

Please note: It is your responsibility to check on the status of your application and send us any missing materials.

STEP 8:

This is your final step to becoming a DIAaian. We will post a notification for the list of ACCEPTED students on our website and through mail.  Kindly Review all important dates on the website.
