''The creative industry in Africa has long been filled with untapped potential, yet a lack of structured education, mentorship, and opportunities has held back many talented individuals from reaching their full capabilities. Many aspiring designers struggle to find the right platform to develop their skills, express their creativity, and compete on the global stage. Recognizing this challenge, I knew that something had to change. With this vision in mind, JACCD Design Institute Africa was founded in 1995, guided by the belief that "Every day is an opportunity for us to change the world. Let’s do it!" This mindset has been the driving force behind our mission—to prepare and build emerging creative talents for excellence in design in order to stimulate disruptive innovations, develop interdisciplinary and collaborative projects, and be the drivers of the global creative economy, society, and environment. I wanted to create a space where young creatives could dream big, develop their skills, and use design as a tool for transformation. For over 30 years, JACCD has remained committed to empowering the next generation of designers by equipping them with the knowledge, confidence, and entrepreneurial spirit to excel. We are not just an institution; we are a movement that fosters creativity, challenges norms, and shapes the future of African fashion and design. By embracing innovation and collaboration, our students are rewriting the narrative of African creativity and making their mark on the world. As we continue this journey, I encourage each of you to see every day as a new opportunity to create, inspire, and make a difference. The world is waiting for your ideas, your vision, and your passion. Let’s do it—together!
